Motivated Moms

In January of 2018 a couple of motivated moms Tammy and Paula came together to form WAG-Able a dog treat business that serves as the training platform of Where Ability Grows, a venture to provide work training, life skill development and social integration for our young adults living with an intellectual disability whom are transitioning into adulthood. The concept quickly spread to a few other close friends and WAG-Able nonprofit company has begun.

Tammy the Executive Director of Programing for WAG-Able is Hannah's mom and creating a program where Hannah thrives and is integrated into her community in meaningful and fulfilling ways is the purpose and motivation for developing WAG-Able. Tammy has organized programs for children and young adults of various abilities for 30 plus years. She has run day camps, after school tutoring programs, art clubs, and special olympic swim teams. She has been certified in teaching and special education and taught in CA and TX as well as homeschooled Hannah for 10 years. As Hannah grows and her interests mature, there has become a need for a young adult program, so here we are moving forward, seeking to grow abilities while adapting for disability in order to meet the needs of the whole person striving to live to their full potential.

Paula the Executive Director of Community Relations and Marketing for WAG-Able is Megan's mom and one of the driving forces of WAG-Able. Paula wants meaningful work for Megan as she transitions into adult hood. Paula has many talents and expertise and most notably she is able to connect with anyone and everyone, with a giving heart and a generous spirt of good will. Paula is also one of the founders of DSNO -Down Syndrome Network Oregon, which is a piller in our community of support, advocacy, inclusiveness, equality, respect for life, compassion, comfort, and hope. Paula is all about supporting, encouraging, and facilitating programs that support the whole person, families, and friends along this journey thru all ages and stages of not only living, but thriving with a disability.
